Metro reports that hundreds of railway ticket offices are to stay open after a shock government U-turn.

The paper hails the government’s last-minute decision to scrap plans to close hundreds of rail ticket offices in England. 

The U-turn is a “victory” for campaigners for the elderly and disabled, it adds.
