Raheem Sterling’s Liverpool transfer question and family ties that keep Anfield close
The Daily Mirror says where there was once standing ovations for Raheem Sterling at Anfield, there is now boos and jeers – the Liverpool faithful still refuse to come to terms with his departure to Manchester City in 2015.
Bursting on to the scene with the kind of pace and prowess we have all grown to associate with Sterling, the then-17-year-old handed Brendan Rodgers his first Premier League home win as Liverpool manager with his first senior goal against Reading on October 20, 2012.
By the time he had notched that strike he was already a name on the lips of many members within the Anfield faithful after an impressive showing on his first league start two months prior – against Man City no less.
