Pyrenees hiker Esther Dingley’s partner finds her body
The Times says the snow on the Pyrenees where Esther Dingley disappeared had long melted but for months there was no trace of the missing British hiker. It took until yesterday for the desperate search by her partner to end when it was confirmed that he had found her body and hiking equipment in the mountain pass from which she sent him a final text message.
Daniel Colegate’s discovery raises questions about how he was able to find the body before specialist French police mountain units, who had assured her family that they had scoured the area. The French authorities have said they are not ruling out murder.
