Princess Charlotte has been snapped giving the camera a cheeky grin in a picture released ahead of her eighth birthday tomorrow.
As has become tradition, it was the Princess of Wales who took the photograph at the weekend to mark her daughter’s special day.
Charlotte’s birthday comes just a few days before she is expected to play a small but important role in the coronation of her grandad King Charles.
She will join her family in Westminster Abbey to watch the new monarch being crowned before accompanying her siblings in the procession from the church which will follow the ceremony, according to newspaper reports.
Her big brother George, nine, will be one of eight Pages of Honour during the service, joining a procession through the nave and assisting with the holding of robes.
Once it’s all over and done with, Charlotte is likely to appear on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside George and younger brother Louis, five.
Many will be hoping for a repeat of Louis’s antics during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, where he pulled faces familiar to many parents up and down the country.
Charlotte, the third in line to the British throne after her dad the Prince of Wales and George, has a reputation for being a little bit feisty compared to her elder sibling.

Her great-grandmother the late Queen Elizabeth II once remarked how she likes to look after George – and Kate has previously said the princess is ‘the one in charge’.
The family live in Adelaide Cottage in Windsor’s Home Park and, like her brothers, Charlotte attends the private Lambrook School near Ascot in Berkshire.
Last month, a smiling Louis was photographed being pushed in a wheelbarrow by his mother Kate ahead of his fifth birthday.
It was one of two pictures of the young prince taken by photographer Millie Pilkington on the Windsor Estate in April.
