Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s A-list pals are reportedly showing signs of being reluctant to distance themselves from the Royal Family.
It appears that some celebrities, once close to Harry and Meghan, are currently walking on a tightrope between the pair and the Firm and are doing their best to not take any sides in the ongoing feud.
Since moving to California in 2020, the pair have often been seen on nights out with well-known A-listers.
Some of these famous faces, although close to the Sussexes, have remained neutral in the tensions and maintained ties with the royals – despite Harry and Meghan’s continuous attacks.
Here, Express.co.uk looks into some well-known faces who are still close to the Sussexes and the royals.
Katy Perry
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear to be firm friends with the singer Katy Perry now, but their friendship hasn’t always been smooth sailing.
It has been previously reported that Meghan held a “grudge” against Katy, who attended the couple’s wedding, over a critical comment she once made about her wedding dress.
Whilst doing a promotional tour in the US for American Idol in 2018, Katy joked that she would have “done one more fitting” whilst speaking about Meghan’s dress.
A source told the Daily Star in 2022 that Meghan was “keenly aware” of Katy’s comment and is “notorious for holding a grudge”.

The source added: “While the comment wasn’t meant to be hurtful, Meghan felt under siege at that time and was overwhelmed by arguments with staff, [Kate] the Duchess of Cambridge and Thomas Markle.”
The couple do now appear to be fans of the singer with Meghan and Harry pictured dancing the night away at her concert last week.
The US-born singer also appears close to the royals and was one of the artists chosen to perform at the King’s Coronation Concert back in May.
As well as attending the Coronation ceremony the day before, Katy performed in front of 20,000 guests – along with the likes of Take That and Lionel Richie – at Windsor Castle.
George and Amal Clooney
Like Katy, George and Amal Clooney also attended Meghan and Harry’s wedding in Windsor in 2018. After the wedding, Amal was even invited to Meghan’s baby shower in New York City in 2019.
According to the Sussexes’ biography ‘Finding Freedom’, George and Amal have also hosted the couple at their Berkshire home at least twice.
Speaking to the Daily Mail about Meghan and Harry in 2019, George Clooney said: “I’ve just known them. We live not too far from one another and we have dinners and stuff and we’re friends with them for all the reasons that you’re friends with anybody. They’re just really, really nice, fun, kind people, they’re a very loving couple, and they’re going to be great parents.”
Despite being close to the Sussexes, the pair turned out in support of King Charles III at a Prince’s Trust event in London back in May.

Victoria and David Beckham
Victoria and David Beckham were also in attendance at the Sussexes’ royal wedding in 2018.
It is thought that Meghan struck up a friendship with Victoria back in 2017 when she first moved to the UK.
By the time that Meghan and Harry were engaged, royal biographer Tom Bower claimed she and Victoria had “grown close” and would “regularly text”.
David is also known to have been very close to Harry, having praised him following his move to the US. He said: “We love him and he’s an amazing person – and that’s the important thing – but I’m proud to see him growing up as an individual and being that person that every father wants to be.”

However, this year it came to light that Meghan and Harry had had suspicions that the Beckhams had leaked stories to the press about Meghan’s help from Victoria.
This is a claim that was denied by the former Spice Girl and reportedly left David furious.
Known to be a huge fan of the royals, it was reported last week that David has accepted a dinner invitation from King Charles.
The dinner is set to include a conversation about him being an ambassador for The Prince’s Foundation. David previously held a similar role for the Invictus Games, which were founded by Prince Harry in 2014.

Idris Elba
He didn’t just attend the wedding, the London-born actor DJed for the pair as well.
Speaking of his role at the wedding to ET Canada, Idris shared that Meghan danced her way through the night, adding that she had “a lot of fun” and “the greatest time”.
Despite being close to the Sussexes, Idris has remained close to King Charles and was even spotted chatting to him last month at a reception for African business at Chapel Barracks in London.
He is also a goodwill ambassador for the Prince’s Trust.

Edward Enninful
Also present at the same meeting alongside Idris Elba in London last month was the outgoing editor of British Vogue, Edward Enninful.
He was seen chatting to the King, appearing to share a laugh with the monarch.
Like Idris, Edward also has strong ties with the Prince’s Trust and was made the global ambassador for the Prince’s Trust Group in 2021.
He is also known to be in support of the Sussexes, especially Meghan, after describing her as “brave woman” when he joined Sky News to discuss criticism that the couple face.
