Sunday, the United Nations Special Envoy to Sudan, Volker Perthes, wrote on social media confirming that he had met with Sudanese Prime Minister, Abdallah Hamdok, a while ago and that he is still under horse arrest.
He noted that the head of the civilian Sudanese government, who was overthrown by the military earlier this week, is in good condition.
The UN envoy continued, “We discussed mediation options and ways forward for Sudan. I will continue these efforts with others.”
