PMQs today – PM refuses to apologise to Welby

    ………………….

Starmer says Corbyn does not even have the Labour whip. He asks if Johnson will apologise to BBC journalists who have been risking their lives.

PM says he admires journalists. He says the claims about his BBC comments are without foundation.

PM refuses to apologise to Justin Welby for criticism

Starmer says the PM attacked the archbishop of Canterbury when the PM criticised Justin Welby for not doing enough to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine – will the PM apologise?

PM says he was surprised the government was attacked over its Rwanda policy. Calling Starmer “a Corbynista in a smart Islington suit.”

    ‘Should be focused on Ukraine’

Starmer asks about partygate. Labour leader wants to know why the PM hasn’t resigned when other Tories who broke Covid rules including Matt Hancock all resigned.

The PM hits back saying he already addressed the party gate fines yesterday and reiterates he apologises for law-breaking.

He says Starmer should be asking about energy prices or Ukraine instead of being in a “Dr Who time wharp”

    ………………….

    Happy Birthday to the Queen

PM Boris Johnson starts by wishing the Queen a happy birthday for tomorrow. He says he’ll travel to India later today – he’ll meet Modi and visit British investments.

Keir Starmer joins the PM in wishing a happy birthday to the Queen.
