Piers Morgan slams stars for showing up to Oscars afterparty ‘like a bunch of strippers’ and questions Emily Ratajkowski’s invite

Piers Morgan offered his opinion on the Oscars red carpet fashion and was less than impressed with this year’s display.

The talk show host, 57, let rip on stars’ sheer ensembles and admitted his distaste at what he deemed was too much skin for such an iconic event.

Comparing celebrities from this generation to that of old Hollywood, he slammed actors and famous faces for their ‘skimpy’ looks as they attended Vanity Fair’s afterparty.

During his chat show on TalkTV, the Piers Morgan Uncensored host said: ‘More and more of them rocked up basically naked with a couple of bars of clothing over them.

‘This is not what the Oscars is supposed to be about, where’s the glamour in this? This is like a bunch of strippers.

‘By the way, I have no problem with strippers but not at the Oscars’.

He then turned his attention to the olden days of the award ceremony and pointed out: ‘Look at the Oscars back in the fifties. It’s a completely different vibe.

‘The great thing about the old stars was that they didn’t feel that desperation first to be noticed, they didn’t need it.

‘Now it’s all like look at my naked flesh, not even look at my talent and my glamour and my beauty’.

The broadcaster took aim at model Emily Ratajkowski next, claiming she shouldn’t have even been invited to the event reserved for showbiz’s elite.

He exclaimed: ‘What is Emily Ratajkowski doing there anyway? How does she qualify to be anywhere near an Oscars party?

‘She turned up in more clothes than she normally wears i.e not very many but what’s she doing there? It’s like Kim Kardashian or something – ridiculous!’

The Oscars’ infamous afterparty bash took place at the Annenberg Center in Beverly Hills after a historic evening of glitz and glamour that saw Everything Everywhere All at Once star Michelle Yeoh take home a gong for best actress.
