Piers Morgan has addressed the decision to ban Kanye West from Instagram and Twitter.

Days after the Praise God rapper sparked outrage by wearing a White Lives Matter top at Paris Fashion Week, he was found to violate rules on social media and was locked out of his accounts.

Instagram restricted the 45-year-old’s account over the weekend after he published a post described as anti-semitic.

He then moved over to Twitter where he was alleged to have tweeted: ‘I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.

‘The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.’

Twitter has since removed the post in question, with a message instead reading: ‘This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules.’

Kanye West being locked out of his social media accounts isn’t an attack on free speech, it’s a justified suppression of vile, indefensible hate speech.

‘The account in question has been locked due to a violation of Twitter’s policies,’ a Twitter spokesperson told Metro.co.uk in a statement.

Taking to his own page, Piers offered his take on the removal, and said that it was ‘justified’.

‘Kanye West being locked out of his social media accounts isn’t an attack on free speech, it’s a justified suppression of vile, indefensible hate speech,’ he penned.

Ye’s Instagram account was restricted after reports that the dad-of-four called out fellow musician Diddy in a post, suggesting he was being controlled by Jews.

Meta, which owns Instagram, confirmed to Metro.co.uk they had ‘deleted content from @kanyewest for violating our policies and placed a restriction on the account.’

However, the spokesperson did not specify which posts had been removed from West’s feed or what the restriction entails.

The Grammy-winner then turned his attention to Twitter, after two years of inactivity on his account.

Upon his return to the platform, Kanye called out Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg after Instagram restricted his content.

‘Look at this Mark. How you gone kick me off Instagram. You used to be my n***a,’ he wrote.

Elon Musk also celebrated his brief return, penning: ‘Welcome back to Twitter, my friend!’

Metro.co.uk has contacted Twitter for a comment.
