Phillip Schofield is said to have called in lawyers to ensure that he presents Monday’s episode of This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby in the face of their reported feud.

The ITV daytime confirmed on Sunday night that the duo will front tomorrow’s show together, despite claims that the pair no longer talk behind the scenes and that their friendship had ‘cooled’.

According to insiders, Phil, 61, reached out to lawyers over the situation, with sources telling the Daily Mail it’s ‘a clear sign that he is taking this very seriously’ and is ‘keen to come out of the situation quickly’.

The publication claimed This Morning entered crisis talks over the weekend to work out who would host the programme on Monday, with neither said to be open to stepping down.

The show’s official Twitter account confirmed both parties would be back on screen as usual on May 15.

Announcing the news in a tweet that outlined the schedule, it read: ‘Coming up on tomorrow’s #ThisMorning with Phillip and Holly:

‘⭐️ First ever I’m a Celeb legend Myleene Klass🗞️ Gyles and Camilla give their morning view🏋️ Daniel Craig’s trainer gets us into shape🐕 The stars of cult comedy Colin from Accounts.’

It added: ‘And did we mention… 12 at 12 is back, which could see you winning up to £12,000! All that and more, from 10am on ITV1, STV and ITVX.’

Reports of a falling out between Holly, 42, and Phil first transpired last week, with insiders claiming that the pair are not on good terms behind-the-scenes, amid a dwindling relationship.

Phil, however, appeared to downplay rumours of a feud and he heaped praise on Holly in a statement shared with The Sun.

‘As I have said before, Holly is my rock,’ he said. ‘We’re the best of friends – as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.

‘Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her.

Phil’s statement was then said to have ‘blindsided’ Holly, who wasn’t aware he was going to speak on their friendship.
