Pen Farthing claims he was not assisted by the MoD
The Times says a former Royal Marine who evacuated about 170 dogs and cats from an animal shelter in Afghanistan to the UK has dismissed claims that the Ministry of Defence helped him get to the airport.
Paul “Pen” Farthing apologised for leaving a Ministry of Defence special adviser an expletive-laden message in which he threatened to “destroy” him and accused him of blocking the evacuation flight.
But he said that “nobody” supported his entry to the airport, despite the Ministry of Defence stating on Twitter that it had “assisted him through the system”.
