Violence erupts after hundreds of Palestinians protested against Israel’s stifling blockade of the Gaza Strip.

41 Palestinians were injured by Israeli gunfire, including a 13-year-old kid who was hit in the head. During the clashes along Gaza’s border with Israel, one Israeli policeman was critically injured by Palestinian gunfire.

Hundreds of Palestinians took part in a Saturday demonstration to raise attention to Israel’s stifling blockade of the area, which erupted in violence. After dozens of people approached the fortified border and threw rocks and explosives at Israeli soldiers from behind a black smoke screen created by burning tyres, the protest became violent.

The Israeli military said hundreds of demonstrators approached one area of the fence in northern Gaza and attempted to climb over. It said troops fired tear gas and live rounds at the protesters.
According to the report, a member of the paramilitary border police was shot and is in bad condition in the hospital.
