Cliff notes – Global markets crash over Trump tariffs

    • On Sunday night, the U.S. stock market looked like it was going to drop a lot. One big part of it, called the Dow Jones, went down more than 1,700 points.
    • When Monday started in Asia, things got even worse. Japan’s stock market dropped almost 9%, and China’s went down about 4.5%. In Hong Kong, the market fell 8%, and big companies like Alibaba and Tencent also lost more than 8%. Singapore’s stocks fell over 7%, and Australia’s dropped about 6%. South Korea’s market also went down more than 4%.
    • A well-known stock expert, Jim Cramer, had warned on Saturday that something big and bad could happen to the markets on Monday — like a crash.
