Day six of the Olympic Games is underway with 18 gold medal events taking place across an action-packed schedule in Paris.
Mathilda Hodgkins-Byrne and Becky Wilde secured bronze for Team GB in the opening rowing final of the day but there was heartbreak for Helen Glover, who missed out on what would have been a historic gold in the women’s four.

So, no golds in the rowing this morning but three more medals for Team GB is nothing to be sniffed at.
It brings Great Britain’s total in Paris to 20 – a tally that could rise before the end of day six – while they currently sit sixth in the medal table.

More boxing controversy in Paris
Another day, another questionable decision in Olympic boxing.
Ireland’s Aoife O’Rourke is the latest fighter left in disbelief after being eliminated in the French capital.
Rourke was handed a split decision defeat against Elzbieta Wojcik of Poland – a fight many felt she had clearly won.
‘I don’t agree with that decision, I thought O’Rourke was a fairly comfortable winner,’ said BBC’s boxing expert Steve Bunce.
Team GB’s judo hopes over

The 35-year-old was born in Northern Ireland but will not be representing Team GB.
Instead, McIlroy opted to play for Ireland three years ago in Tokyo and will be doing the same this summer.

The uber-relaxed 51-year-old rocked up to the 10m air pistol mixed team event without ear protection or specialised lenses, in stark contrast with his rivals, and clinched silver alongside Sevval Ilayda Tarhan.
What a dude.
