Not going anywhere! Evil Theo gets away with tormenting Stacey in EastEnders – and won’t stop

Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) has been left absolutely terrified in recent EastEnders scenes after learning that the police have no way of stopping stalker Theo Hawthorne (William Ellis).

Theo has been stalking Stacey for several months, after anonymously paying her for private video calls.

Earlier this week, he finally revealed his true nature to unsuspecting Stacey, all while her 13-year-old daughter Lily (Lillia Turner) gave birth in the next room.

After explaining what had happened to local police detective Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), he urged her to go to the police about Theo, and she quickly obliged.

She recounted all of the details of Theo’s behaviour to an officer, before revealing that he had done this before to someone else, who had been driven to suicide by his actions.

Having seen all of the texts that Theo had sent her, the officer promised to pay a visit to her house and bring him in for questioning if he was there.

Lo and behold, Theo was outside No.31 when the police arrived, no doubt waiting for Stacey to return, and soon they had escorted him to the station.

However, during his questioning, he painted a very different picture to Stacey.

Stacey was horrified to learn that Theo was a free man (Picture: BBC)

He told the officers that they were in a relationship, and that she had threatened him with a carving knife after flying off the handle about a conversation he had with a work colleague.

His story reached a new low when he brought up Stacey’s bipolar, saying that she had been struggling under the pressure of Lily’s pregnancy.

When the officer informed him that he would need to check his phone, we thought it would be all over, but unfortunately that was not the case.

The police later arrived at the hospital where Lily was recovering to inform Stacey of their development.

She was left horrified as they explained that because the texts had come from an unregistered number, they couldn’t link them back to Theo and had had to let him go.

Has the threat of police intervention been enough to scare Theo off, or is he set to continue harassing Stacey and her family?
