BREAKING: Nobody warned me drinks event was against rules – PM
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has “categorically” denied he was warned a drinks party in the No 10 garden risked breaking lockdown rules.
“Nobody warned me that it was against the rules,” the PM said, adding: “I would have remembered that.”
The PM’s statement came after ex-aide Dominic Cummings said he warned the prime minister about the party at the time and accuses the PM of misleading MPs about it.
Asked if he would resign if he was found to have misled MPs, Mr Johnson said: “Let’s see what the report says.”
Sue Gray is set to publish a report into alleged Covid restriction rule-breaking. The Senior civil servant will be investigating at least 13 events in which rules may have been breached. The investigation is expected to conclude within the next two weeks.
