Neymar has issued a public apology to his pregnant girlfriend Bruna Biancardi after cheating on her.
The sporting star, 31, penned a lengthy statement in which he confessed to making a ‘mistake’ but saying he wants to ‘try’ to make their relationship work.
Neymar has been dating social media influencer Bruna, 28, since 2021, having kept their romance under wraps until they went Instagram official in January 2022.
In April 2023, they announced that they were expecting their first child together, with Neymar already a dad to son Davi Lucca, 12, with his ex-partner Carolina Dantas.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (June 21), the Paris Saint-Germain star shared a photo of the couple.
He wrote in the caption: ‘Bru. I do this for both of you and your family. Justify the unjustifiable. No need to. But I need you in OUR lives.

‘I saw how much you were exposed, how much you suffered with all of this and how much you want to be by my side. And I stand beside you.
‘I did wrong with you all. I risk saying I’m wrong every day, on and off the pitch. Only I solve my mistakes in personal life at home, in my intimacy with my family and friends…
‘All of this hit one of the most special people in my life. The woman I dreamed of following beside me, mother of my child.
‘Has it touched his family, which is my family today. She touched her intimacy in such a special moment that is maternity.
‘Bru, I already apologised for my mistakes, for unnecessary exposure, but I feel obligated to come publicly reaffirm that. If a private matter has become public, the apology has to be public.
‘Can’t imagine without you. I don’t know if we’ll work out, but TODAY you’re sure I want to try.

‘Our purpose will prevail, our love for our baby will win, our love for each other will make us stronger.’
He signed off: ‘ALWAYS US. I love you ❤️.’
His confession comes after reports surfaced just days ago that Neymar and Bruna had an ‘agreement’ in place, listing three conditions that allow him to be unfaithful.
According to Em Off, the three conditions mean that any outside relationship ‘must be discreet’, that Neymar ‘must wear a condom’, and that he can ‘not kiss them on the mouth’.
The outlet claimed that the player is ‘free to flirt’ and even have sex with other women.
Meanwhile, while announcing their pregnancy earlier this year, Neymar and Bruna couldn’t have been happier.

Sharing a series of sweet snaps online of her growing baby bump, they wrote: ‘We dream about your life, plan your arrival and knowing that you are here to complete our love, makes our days much happier.
‘You will arrive in a beautiful family, with your brother, grandparents, uncles and aunties who already love you very much!
‘Come soon son, we are waiting for you!
‘“Before I formed you in the womb I chose you; before you were born I set you apart” – Jeremiah 1:5. [sic].’
It’s not been confirmed if the pair are engaged, but Bruna did spark rumours of wedding bells recently when she was spotted with a ring on her finger.
