Lebanon approves $197 million loan to avoid blackout
Lebanon’s President Aoun has approved a treasury loan of up to $197 million for the state electricity company to import fuel before supplies run out, according to an official statement.
The president’s approval comes just days before Lebanon was due to experience a total power blackout.
