TV fans are praising one of the ‘best shows Netflix has ever made’ on its nine-year anniversary.

Despite being released nearly a decade ago, the Duffer Brothers’ tale about a group of young friends who witness supernatural forces and secret government exploits in 1980s Indiana is as popular as ever, with Stranger Things fans desperate for the release of its latest season.

Following the journey of Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Will Byers (Noah Schnapp), Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) and Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), the group try their best to battle the ‘Upside Down’.

The upcoming fifth and final chapter of the series will be split into three parts that will all release in the last quarter of 2025.

But, as the show celebrates a major milestone since its release, fans are claiming nothing on Netflix has come close to it since.

Meanwhile, @buffys said: ‘The final season is gonna ruin me :(((‘

Looking ahead to the fifth and final season, many fans could not hide their excitement.

@DeSciJeremy wrote on social media: ‘It’s been a wild ride, can’t wait for the finale!’

@heyheyfranciele similarly said: ‘Oof, time flies! Can’t wait to see how it all ends.’

Fans are now eagerly awaiting tomorrow’s teaser trailer for the final season (Picture: Netflix)

Earlier today, it was revealed that there is a teaser trailer dropping tomorrow for the finale season of Stranger Things.

An ominous-looking posters shows that the gang are likely to face the threat of Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower).

An official synopsis for the season reads: ‘Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown.

‘Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding.

‘As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before.

‘To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.’

Stranger Things will be available to watch on Netflix this summer.
