India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has responded to claims of an Indian assassination plot on American soil for the first time, telling the Financial Times he would “look into” any evidence but the allegations will not derail his country’s ties with the US.
Mr Modi describes his country’s relationship with the US as “broader in engagement, deeper in understanding, warmer in friendship than ever before”, adding “our foremost guiding principle in foreign affairs is our national interest”.
