Mirror Sport – City fury over sick Sir Bobby chants
The back page of the Daily Mirror leads on reports that a group of Manchester City fans were chanting about the death of Sir Bobby Charlton – the former Manchester United and England great.
City have released a statement condemning a “small number of individuals” who were heard chanting: “Bobby’s in a box.” The back page says City boss Pep Guardiola is ‘raging’ at the behaviour of the City fans.
City released a statement saying: “our security team are studying CCTV footage of the concourse areas. We are thankful to those who have already come forward to report this matter, and we continue to appeal for any information that can help us identify the individuals involved so that we can take the appropriate action to issue banning orders.”
