Meet YouTube’s New Star – Mila Tequila – Who’s Taking You Back To The 2000s
(London, UK)
The 2000s were a simpler time. Long before social media took over our lives, the 2000s were a time for celebrity gossip, paparazzi and tabloid drama.
My new favourite youtube channel – mila tequila – deep-dives into the elaborate spats, personal drama, scandals, and crimes of the legendary alleged history of 00’s Hollywood.
The channel is only a few months old but has already accumulated 105 thousand subscribers. Mila Tequila acknowledges at the beginning of each video their primary source of information they draw on is the glorious ’00s blog, Pop Culture Died in 2009.
Pop Culture Died in 2009 is a blog that timelines events of the 2000s – some of the most famous and some completely forgotten.
The channel’s first upload is a deep dive investigation into what the Lindsay Lohan (Actress) and Paris Hilton (Heiress) 2000’s feud was about, what happened and why.
There’s also a long investigation into the rise and fall of Lindsay Lohan, covering the highs and lows of her Hollywood career that peaked in 2005. The two-part investigation looks into everything from films to feuds, scandals and rehab and everything before, during and after.
There’s also a video on a lost moment in history – The Bling Ring – that details the how’s and why’s of the LA teenagers who robbed multiple celebrity homes back in 2008 -2009.
Another video on the feud between Miley Cyrus, Mandy Jiroux, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez that was all the tabloid gossip of 2008 – 2010.
And a Kim Kardashian origin story reportedly on the way.
2000s nostalgia is back and Mila Tequila is – rapidly – leading the way. Her laid back, witty style has set Mila on course for being YouTube’s next big star.
