Gabriel Jesus will not be fit for Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Sevilla with Martin Odegaard also a doubt.
The Brazil international starred in the reverse fixture away in Spain in late October, scoring and providing an assist in a 2-1 victory.
But the former Manchester City star limped off in the closing stages of that win, missing Premier League games against Sheffield United and Newcastle United as a result.
Jesus was called into the Brazil squad on Monday ahead of crucial World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina despite concerns over his fitness.
Arsenal have two games before the final international break of the year, taking on Sevilla on Wednesday before hosting Burnley on Saturday afternoon.
Speaking ahead of that Champions League tie, Mikel Arteta confirmed his forward will not be available midweek with captain Martin Odegaard also a doubt.
‘Gabi won’t be fit and Martin [is] uncertain,’ Arteta told a press conference on Tuesday. ‘The rest, no news so far.’

Odegaard was an unused substitute in the 5-0 victory over Sheffield United and was also among the subs as Arsenal were dumped out of the Carabao Cup against West Ham United last week.
The Norway international missed the defeat at St James’ Park on Saturday after It was revealed he has been nursing a hip injury.
Like Jesus, Odegaard was named in his national team squad with Arteta believing his skipper will be available for international duty.
‘Martin loves to play for his country and every time he was called up and he was fit and he will be there if that’s the case,’ Arteta said.
Emile Smith Rowe and Thomas Partey are Arsenal other two absentees. Smith Rowe suffered a knee injury ahead of last week’s defeat at West Ham with Arteta describing the knock as ‘a big worry’.
Partey meanwhile suffered a thigh problem in training last month with reports suggesting he could be ruled out until the end of the year.
