Metro – 40.3C Burning hot Britain 

“Burning hot Britain” is the Metro’s take on the heatwave as an all-time high temperature of 40.3C was recorded in Lincolnshire.

The Metro is one of a number of front pages to feature images of the fires that raged across the country on Tuesday. In one, a home in Wennington, east London, is seen ablaze after a fire began in a dried-out compost heap – while in another smoke from a wildfire billows across the A2 in Dartford, Kent.
