Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino was tight-lipped on reports linking Armando Broja with a departure from the club in the January transfer window.

Broja has played 13 Premier League games for Chelsea this season since his return from a long-term knee injury but has scored just one goal.

With Chelsea looking, once again, to refresh their striking options, the Albanian has been increasingly linked with an exit amid interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

West Ham, Fulham and Wolves are all reported to be keen on a move for Broja, with Chelsea said to be holding out for a sum in the region of £35million.

However, when asked about Broja’s potential departure, Pochettino was not forthcoming with any specific details about a move but suggested he was keen to keep the striker at the club.

‘At the moment, [there is] no news,’ the Argentine said at his press conference ahead of Chelsea’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Middlesbrough.

‘We cannot update in any way. It’s all so quiet and I think that’s a good thing because we are working well.’

When asked about any potential incomings, Pochettino said: ‘No update. No news about players that can come in.’

Although Chelsea have not made any permanent signings, the Blues’ squad has been bolstered by the return of a number of loanees, most notably Cesare Casadei who impressed at Championship leaders Leicester City in the first half of the season.

‘We need to assess now they have come back from their loan. They are going to be a part of our squad and then the decision will be [made] if they are going to be part of the team,’ Pochettino said when asked about the returning players.
