Matt Hancock caught in ‘passionate clinch’ with aide
Health Secretary Matt Hancock, 42, is fighting for his job today after an accusation of him having an affair with his closest aide.
CCTV has emerged showing Hancock and his aide kissing in the corridor outside his Whitehall office.
He was caught rubbing the back and bottom of millionaire lobbyist Gina Coadangelo as they passionately embraced. Coadangelo was hired as a taxpayer-funded advisor in March 2020.
The incident is alleged to have taken place at the Department of Health’s headquarters in London at around 3 pm on May 6 this year. The kiss was 13 days before the Government relaxed safety rules on hugging.
The Daily Mail says Matt Hancock is reported to have checked the corridor was clear before closing the door, leaning on it before launching into their passionate embrace.
The Sun claims they have been having an affair and it been widely known in the department.
Hancock has been married for 15 years and the couple have three children. His wife was pictured leaving the couple’s home in North London this morning but did not speak to reporters.
A friend of Matt Hancock reportedly told The Sun they had ‘no comment’ on the matter, and ‘no rules’ had been breached.
The former Whitehall employee who leaked the footage told The Sun it was “shocking that Mr Hancock was having an affair in the middle of a pandemic with an adviser and friend he used public money to hire.’
The alleged affair adds more pressure to Matt Hancock who is already reportedly fighting for his job following the Dominic Cummings committee. Mr Cummings’ attack on the health secretary included him releasing alleged WhatsApp messages from the PM that showed Boris Johnson branding him as f***ing useless.
