Mass protest in Madrid over Sánchez plan to pardon Catalan separatists
The Times says thousands of Spaniards congregated in central Madrid yesterday to protest at plans by Pedro Sánchez, the prime minister, to pardon Catalan separatist leaders.
Waving Spanish flags and holding signs urging King Felipe to refuse to sign the pardons, the 25,000-strong crowd that gathered in Plaza de Colón included the leaders of all the country’s right-wing parties.
