Mason Mount is in danger of wasting his career after ‘falling into the biggest black hole the world’s ever seen’ since joining Manchester United.
That’s according to Chris Sutton, who says Mount has gone the same way as so many high profile arrivals at Old Trafford in recent years.
Mount joined United from Chelsea in a £55m deal last summer and the fee could reach around £60m based on the midfielder’s time at Old Trafford.
The England ace was a shadow of his former self during his last 12 months at Stamford Bridge, and he felt a move to the north-west could revive his career.
But Mount has made just four Premier League starts, and is yet to complete 90 minutes for the club in the league.

While Mount has assisted in the Carabao Cup, he’s awaiting his first goal or assist in the league for the Red Devils.
Mount came on at half-time during the Manchester derby but was a passenger as City showed their dominance in a 3-0 win on Sunday.
And Sutton believes Mount has completely lost his way since moving to the Theatre of Dreams.
‘Mason Mount looks like he’s fallen into the biggest black hole the world’s ever seen,’ Sutton told the Daily Mail.
Ten Hag replaced Sofyan Amrabat with Mount in the derby, in a move that Gary Neville labelled ‘reckless’.
But the Dutchman defended his tactics, and said he had no regrets over introducing Mount.
‘You can’t say that,’ said Ten Hag.
‘We had to create because we are losing the game. You can wait, clear, but when you have Mason Mount on the bench you can expect creativity.’
