Marseille have responded to reports that they are looking to sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United in the January transfer window.
Martial is among several players United are open to selling but manager Erik ten Hag has insisted it is not the club’s ‘aim’ to offload him.
The 28-year-old appears to have no long-term future at Old Trafford, though, given he has six months remaining on his current contract.
United retain the option to extend the former Monaco forward’s deal by a further 12 months but there appears little desire to activate that clause.
Martial has been booed by his own fans this season amid a series of poor performances, with the French forward scoring just twice across 19 games.
Marseille have been linked with a move for Martial but according to La Provence, the French club have denied those reports and are ‘frustrated’ by them.
Martial has made 317 appearances for United to date, registering 90 goals and 55 assists.

Speaking after that game, United legend Gary Neville said it was ‘bizarre’ that Martial was still starting games for the Red Devils.
