Married At First Sight star Gemma Rose will not appear in the show’s upcoming Christmas special due to her upset at the editing.

Although the final episode of this year’s E4 series aired earlier this week, confirming which couples are still together and which couples have broken up, it has been revealed that some of the contestants will be back in December for another reunion.

Metro.co.uk previously reported that Matt Murray will not return for the special after a ‘traumatic’ time on the programme.

And now we have learned that Gemma will also be keeping away.

‘Gemma was intending on attending the Christmas reunion as she was asked to be part of the cast but after the show airing and seeing how they edited her she has since decided to not work with Channel 4 again,’ her rep confirmed to us.

Gemma has been extremely vocal in her feelings about how she was edited in this year’s Married At First Sight UK.

Matt has also ruled out returning to the show for the reunion (Picture: E4)

Speaking to her followers on Instagram earlier this month, she said: ‘It’s not fair, this narrative that’s been created of me. I just wish that you guys knew the full story.’

Gemma had a tumultuous time on the series, having been matched up to Matt by the experts.

However, her marriage was dramatically cut short when Matt discovered he had a connection with fellow bride Whitney Hughes, who was married to Duka Cav.

After a number of explosive showdowns, Gemma made the difficult decision to leave the process, while Matt and Whitney were controversially given permission to re-join the experiment as a new couple.

Married At First Sight UK is available to stream on All4.

Her ex Matt has also ruled out returning for the reunion.
