    Man ‘sexually assaulted’ by woman on Tube escalator after refusing to link arms

    British Transport Police released CCTV images of a woman they wish to speak to about the incident (Picture: BTP)

    A man was allegedly sexually assaulted on the London Underground after refusing to link arms with another passenger.

    He was travelling on an escalator at Euston station when a woman approached him at around 9pm on Friday, April 14.

    When he pulled his arm away, she sexually assaulted him, a spokesperson for British Transport Police (BTP) said.

    The woman, who was with a friend, then got off the escalator, boarding a train.

    No arrests have yet been made, but police have now released CCTV images of a woman they want to question in connection with the incident.

    Officers believe she has information which may assist the investigation.

    ‘Do you recognise this woman? We would like to speak to her in connection with a sexual assault at Euston Underground station on Friday, April 14,’ the force said in a statement.

    BTP’s appeal comes just months after TfL, BTP, the Metropolitan Police and City of London Police unveiled a campaign encouraging passengers to ‘safely intervene’ if they witness incidents of sexual harassment and violence on public transport.

    Posters can be spotted across the network asking people to help victims by defusing the situation and offering support.
