A man has died after attempting to save two children who appeared to be in distress in the sea.
The 60-year-old entered the water close to the promenade in Ingoldmells, near Skegness, at around 4pm on Sunday.
He got into difficulty and died at the scene, Lincolnshire Police said.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and loved ones at this very sad time,” the force added.
It did not give any further details about the children involved in the incident.
