Hollyoaks is set to welcome back one of its most-loved characters after a decade.
The long-running Channel 4 soap will see Jacqui McQueen, who left the eponymous village in 2013, will stage a comeback for a very special episode, with actress Claire Cooper reprising her iconic role.
Details of her return storyline are being kept under wraps for the time being, but Metro.co.uk understands that it will tie into an upcoming narrative involving Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe).
Consider us very excited.
Mercedes, as fans will know, is engaged to Felix Westwood (Richard Blackwood), but she has been having a secret relationship with Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) in recent months.
To complicate matters further, the former Dog landlady is also pregnant, though she’s not sure who the father of the baby is.
A short teaser for Hollyoaks’ Winter Trailer confirmed that Mercedes’ whereabouts will become the subject of much speculation, so fans expect to catch a sneak peek of Jacqui in the trailer when it drops later today.

Jacqui is the third big return that Hollyoaks has announced in recent weeks, following confirmation that Emma Rigby will e reprising her role as Hannah Ashworth, while Suzanne Hall will also be returning as mum Suzanne Ashworth.
‘In true Hollyoaks style there is so much happening, lots of twists and turns and as always a huge storyline to come,’ said actress Suzanne.
Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson), as viewers will recall, had an affair with Suzanne while married to Hannah, with Suzanne subsequently giving birth to his twins Jack and Francine.
Jack and Frankie, now much older, will also return to the village next year, making 2024 a year to watch for Hollyoaks fans!
Hollyoaks streams weeknights at 7:30pm on Channel 4’s streaming platform, or catch episodes on TV at 7pm on E4.
