Mae Muller has shared a touching post reflecting on the ‘whirlwind’ past few months ahead of taking to the stage for the Eurovision Song Contest’s Grand Final tonight.
The 25-year-old I Wrote A Song singer will be following in the footsteps of last year’s entry Sam Ryder, who came in second place with his smash hit Space Man.
Taking to Instagram just hours before her performance, Mae wrote: ‘I can’t believe we made it to May 13th.
‘The last 3 months have been a whirlwind.
‘We laughed we cried & everything in between but I wouldn’t change a single second, and none of it would be even remotely achievable without the people around me and the ESC community.
‘You guys embraced me with open arms and I’m forever grateful.

‘Tonight is the night & I just hope I can do all of you proud, but whatever the outcome, thank you, thank you, thank you 💘 Eurovision you have a place in my heart forever.’
This comes after she teased her performance with a preview during Thursday’s Semi-Finals.
With the UK part of the Big Five, she managed to bypass the semi-finals and was automatically sent through with the entries for France, Germany, Spain and Italy, as well as last year’s winners Ukraine.

Watching the second round of countries battling for a spot in the Grand Final, Mae later sat down with host Alesha Dixon for a chat, who reminded fans that the singer was born in 1997, the last time the UK won the competition.
‘I cannot even describe to you how honoured I am to be here,’ she said.
‘I think it is safe to say on behalf of the whole UK that we are so excited to be hosting but especially on half of Ukraine.
‘It is a true honour and we are going to have the best time.’

‘I really believe in the song, and I feel like we’ve all worked really, really hard on the show, so I think we’ve got a really good chance of doing well,’ she said.
The Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final airs tonight, Saturday May 13 on BBC One at 8pm.
