Mae Muller has answered the question on everyone’s lips: has she had a nervous poo over her upcoming Eurovision gig?

The singer, 25, will represent the UK at the competition in Liverpool in the grand final on May 13 with her dance banger I Wrote A Song.

Chatting to Tyler West on Tuesday’s Lorraine, the hitmaker got candid about her pre-Eurovision nerves and the toll they’ve taken on her body.

When asked point blank by 27-year-old Tyler: ‘Have you done a nervous poo?’ Mae replied, ‘Constantly.’

    Loving the honesty, Mae!

She also added of the pressure she’s feeling before this week’s contest: ‘The pressure is there, but it’s good. Everything that makes me feel pressure is exciting and amazing.’

As for what fans can expect from her performance, Mae added with a grin: ‘Just sass. But fun.’

She went on: ‘The most important thing is I like bringing my personality to it. I want it to feel like me, I want everyone off their seats. That’s the goal.’

Since being announced as our representative in March, Mae has attended a shedload of events ahead of the big day, including meeting King Charles III and Queen Camilla at the host venue, the M&S Bank Arena, last month.

She joined the royal couple when they unveiled the contest’s stage in Liverpool, with Charles telling her: ‘We will be watching you with great interest – egging you on.’

On top of that, Mae faces even more pressure as she follows in the footsteps of Sam Ryder who came in second place at last year’s Eurovision with Space Man.

Speaking to The Times, Mae reflected: ‘My label said not to rush. I came just before TikTok was a thing, so I didn’t need viral success overnight.

‘They wanted to develop me and that is a dying idea because after TikTok took over it’s all about how fast you can go. That’s sad.

‘The whole point of a label is to give you time, but now they don’t sign anyone unless they’ve had a viral hit already.’

She added: ‘It’s no longer: “My song is on the radio. I’ve made it.” There are a lot of boxes to tick.

‘It depends on what your version of success is, but it is weird. I’m sat at home with seven million monthly listeners and think: “But how well is it actually going?” It can be jarring.’

Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
