President of France Slapped – 2 arrested in President Macron attack
French President Emmanuel Macron was slapped in the face during a visit to a small town in southeastern France. As he greeted the waiting public, a video shows a man slapping President Macron in the face as his bodyguards push the man away, the president is rushed from the scene.
French news broadcaster BFM TV said two people have been detained by police.
The man, who was wearing a mask, appears to have cried out “Montjoie! Saint Denis!”, a centuries-old royalist war cry, before finishing with “A bas la Macronie”, or “Down with Macron”
