Disgraced Lostprophets musician Ian Watkins is reportedly fighting for his life after being stabbed in prison.
The convicted paedophile was jailed in 2013 after pleading guilty to horrific crimes against extremely young children.
It is now being reported that the 46-year-old was attacked by three fellow inmates inside HMP Wakefield after ‘being held hostage and battered’, with ‘fears he could die.’
A source told The Mirror that Watkins was found by officers and is currently ‘in a life-threatening condition … if he survives, he’ll be very lucky.’
They claimed he had been stabbed multiple times and beaten before being freed by prison officers six hours after being taken hostage at around 9am on Saturday morning.
A witness told the outlet paramedics had treated Watkins in an ambulance outside the prison to save his life before he was rushed to hospital.

They said they were ‘unable to comment further while the police investigate.’

He also admitted conspiring to rape a child, three counts of sexual assault involving children, seven involving taking, making or possessing indecent images of children and one of possessing an extreme pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal.
Watkins had previously been the frontman of rock band Lostprophets, which found major success in the alternative scene before his crimes were uncovered, with the band having sold over 3.5 million albums worldwide.
