The authors of Liz Truss’ biography are rushing to update their book after she resigned in dramatic scenes.

James Heale, from the Spectator said he is going to have to re-write the end of the manuscript with Harry Cole, political editor at The Sun.

Parts of the biography of the shortest-serving Prime Minister ever, may have to be re-written.

He Tweeted: ‘Back to the rewrites…’ after the Prime Minister resigned.

The book is due out on December 8 (Picture: Amazon)

He said they will have to write a new chapter that covers the final days of her tenure, according to Bloomberg.

Her disastrous six weeks in parliament have led to a number of outrageous incidents.

On the eve of her resignation, MP’s were accused of ‘man-handling’ others in the voting lobby of Parliament.

Only days before she had been forced to pick a new chancellor, after sacking Kwasi Kwarteng.

It was only six weeks after her appointment by her majesty the Queen, when she became a victim of her own failure.

The authors said the title will remain the same, but the subtitle will change.

It may also include parts about her successor, as the Tory party now faces a leadership contest.

It originally read ‘The inside story of Liz Truss and her astonishing rise to power,’ but ‘astonishing’ will be swapped for ‘explosive.’

Heale added:  ‘Huge swathes will be the same, but now the ending will change.

‘The tenses will have to change.

Earlier today Cole said it was a ‘lack of political nous’ by Liz Truss that led her to rush ‘too fast into things after the country had been through the massive rupture of a new PM and a new monarch.’

A new PM is to be selected by the end of next week. MP’s are currently handing in nominations for the Tory leadership race.

Boris Johnson is expected to make a return in a second bid for PM. Rishi Sunak is the bookies favourite, and Penny Mordaunt has also already thrown her hat into the ring.

The book is set to come out on December 8.
