Liam Payne has been seen filming for a travel series as he makes his way around Ireland.

The former One Direction star, 30, had been taking a break following the cancellation of his South American tour, which had come after a serious health scare.

Last month Liam was in Lake Como, Italy, celebrating his one-year anniversary with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy, when he fell ill.

A source said Liam was ‘in a bad way’, weeks after he told fans that he’d had to postpone his first solo tour after being in hospital with a serious kidney infection.

Since then he’s been seen in Paris with his girlfriend on a romantic trip, and has now been in Ireland, reportedly working on a new project.

The National Trust at Carrick-a-Rede posted on social media about welcoming the pop star and wished him a pleasant stay in Northern Ireland this week.

‘Welcome and Service Assistant, Josh, was over the moon yesterday when he spotted One Direction star, Liam Payne!,’ they posted on Facebook.

They continued: ‘Josh was more than happy to share his knowledge of the site, and answer any questions Liam had (all in exchange for a pic of course!) We hope Liam had a fantastic visit to Carrick-a-Rede, and that he enjoys the rest of his time in Northern Ireland.’

Liam was also seen in Strandhill Co Sligo where fans were quick to snap selfies with the singer as he visited the seaside resort.

The trip is part of a new travel series, as reported by The Mirror.

While details are still under wraps as he continues to film, eagle-eyed fans have also seen him zipping around in a camper van.

The rumoured project comes after he was rushed to hospital while on holiday in Italy with girlfriend Kate Cassidy last month (Picture: Matteo Prandoni/BFA.com/Shutterstock)

After Liam was rushed to emergency last month, Kate shared an update and some details on his recovery.

In a TikTok video, Kate said her partner is ‘in good hands’.

The social media star was getting ready for a night out in London in celebration of fashion week and as she tried on a sparkly blue dress told her followers: ‘I’ve gotten a lot of comments asking about Liam.’

She then confirmed: ‘He’s doing so much better, he’s out of the hospital and he’s in good hands.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted representatives for Liam Payne for comment.
