Leonardo DiCaprio has revealed that he has one goal before his 50th birthday – but he might need to get a move on.
The Hollywood icon, who recently celebrated turning 49 on November 11, has starred in some of the most popular films in movie history, including Titanic, Don’t Look Up, the Wolf of Wall Street and Django Unchained.
His latest big screen effort saw him play Ernest Buckhart in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, beside Lily Gladstone and Robert De Niro, a role that has attracted some serious awards buzz.
However, while many would start winding down as they get older, the Oscar-winner is going the other way, and wants another project under his belt before his milestone birthday.
Yes, seriously.
In an interview on Good Morning America, he was asked to name something he wanted to do before reaching the big 5-0.
‘Good question…,’ he smiled. ‘One more movie.’
Honestly, does the man ever rest?
Aside from his big birthday plans, Leo lifted the lid on Killers of the Flower Moon, confessing that his hands were shaking during his on set reunion with Robert – having previously worked with the Taxi Driver legend on 1993 movie, This Boy’s Life.
‘It’s Robert De Niro! I did my first major role in a movie with Robert De Niro and exactly 30 years later, I’m getting to work with him again,’ he continued.

‘Almost doing a version of that movie, of the abused stepchild whose father figure has a mental control over him and is abusive.
‘So it felt like home. It felt like an intrinsic part of my childhood and I fit right into the shoes.’
Killers of the Flower Moon is based on David Grann’s 2017 book of the same name, and follows the story of Ernest (Leonardo) as he explores a relationship with Mollie Kyle (Lily), under the eye of his uncle, William Hale (Robert).

Unsurprisingly, for a Martin Scorsese film, the key was in the details – with ‘oceans’ of costume pieces made, including around 500 blankets.
The movie marked the sixth time the acclaimed filmmaker directed Leo, and his 10th project alongside Robert – but this was the film all three have worked on together.
Unpacking the experience in a candid chat with the Wall Street Journal magazine, Martin detailed the different way they both approached their roles, and how he was the perfect balance.
The outlet reports that while Robert was ‘terse’, his counterpart was more ‘expansive’ on set.
‘Oh, endless, endless, endless,’ the filmmaker laughed of Leo’s discussions and improvisations during filming. ‘Then Bob didn’t want to talk.
‘Every now and then, Bob and I would look at each other and roll our eyes a little bit. And we’d tell him, “You don’t need that dialogue.”’
Killers of the Flower Moon is in cinemas now.
