Kim Kardashian and her daughter North West have been spotted in New York checking into the Ritz ahead of the glittering Met Gala.
The event, hosted by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, is ordinarily held on the first Monday of May each year and is a who’s who of the biggest stars around the globe as they wear their most extravagant themed outfits.
The Kardashians have flaunted a number of looks at the event over the years, including Kim’s controversial Marilyn Monroe look in 2022.
Despite rumours that the family would not be attending this year’s Met Gala with Anna Wintour tightening the guest list more than usual, it appears Kim has received an invitation.
Kim, 42, and her daughter North West, nine, who she shares with ex-husband Kanye West, were spotted checking into the Ritz in the Big Apple ahead of the prestigious event.
They were joined by Scott Disick, 39, the ex-husband of Kim’s sister Kourtney, and their daughter Penelope, 10.

The family was among the A-listers attending Anna Wintour’s famed Met Gala pre-party alongside Penelope Cruz, Lizzo, Dua Lipa, and more.
This year’s theme is Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, paying tribute to the iconic Chanel artistic director after his death in 2019.
The exhibit, which will be at the museum from May 5 to July 16, will focus ‘on the designer’s stylistic vocabulary as expressed in aesthetic themes that appear time and again in his fashions from the 1950s to his final collection in 2019.’
First held in 1948, the Met Gala is held to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

While the guest list is not public knowledge, you can be sure recent Oscar winners, famed designers, and the biggest stars will all have received an invitation.
This year’s hosts will be Penelope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa, and Anna Wintour.
What exactly happens at the event is kept under wraps, with attendees abiding by a strict no-phones policy.
However, in 2017, we did get a brief insight into the party when a number of celebs broke the rules to snap a few bathroom selfies.
Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, A$AP Rocky, Ashton Sanders, Paris Jackson, Kim Kardashian, Lily Aldridge, and Frank Ocean all huddled together for the famed pic at the event that was shared with billions online.
