Kerry Katona has been battling with her health recently, as an arthritis flare-up left her ‘bed bound.’
The reality star, 42, had some ‘rare’ time off work this week, but unfortunately didn’t get to spend it how she’d like.
Instead, Kerry’s body ‘shut down’ and she’s been in ‘agony.’
The former Atomic Kitten singer was diagnosed with arthritis in 2021 after 13 years of unexplained chronic pain.
Arthritis is a common condition, which the NHS explains causes pain and inflammation in a joint. It can affect people of all ages, including children.
Writing for her latest Ok! Magazine column, Kerry shared: ‘I’ve had a rare couple of days off work this week, but I’ve been bed bound.

‘I’m in agony with my back and my hips – I have arthritis in my hips.’
She continued: ‘I’ve suffered with the pain for a long time, but it’s been worse over the past few days.
‘It’s like my body knows I have time off work so it shuts down.’
The former I’m A Celeb campmate reckons the flare-up was caused by her alays being ‘on the go’ and ‘running off adrenaline.’
‘But it’s been nice to have a bit of a break, despite the pain,’ she admitted, ahead of celebrating the King’s Coronation over the weekend.
Kerry is very open with her followers online and, just days ago, confirmed that she now has arthritis in her hips.

To manage her pain, she’s been forced to cut back her current fitness and weight loss regimes.
‘So, I’ve been out of action because I hurt my back and my hips. So I have arthritis in my hips. Bear with me,’ she said on Instagram last week.
‘Trying to do a workout, my hips are killing, so I’m not pushing it… I get these shooting pains in my legs like I’m getting an electric shock. And my god, it really really hurts.’
Kerry added that she’d been in tears with pain, as she tried to train but her joints are ‘really tight.’
‘Imagine a fly, and you want to pull its wings off, that’s what I want you to do, pull my legs off, that’s the pain I’ve been feeling, it’s been horrendous. Horrendous. I had a massage, and I could not move. So I have literally stayed in bed,’ she explained further.

Kerry’s latest health woes come after she was diagnosed with lipoedema, which is as ‘an abnormal build-up of fat in your legs and sometimes arms.’
Lipoedema can also cause a great deal of pain and there is no cure, but symptoms can be managed.

The mum-of-five embarked on a new workout regime in a bid to shed the ‘fatty lumps,’ over her body, although lipoedema fat is far more stubborn than regular fat, and will not respond to diet or exercise.
Kerry has a positive mindset, though, and being active is beneficial for lipoedema.
