Kanye West bizarrely ‘asked homeless man living in car park to be his election manager for presidential bid’

A homeless man has claimed Kanye West offered him a top job for his US presidential campaign after meeting him in a church car park.

The Gold Digga rapper, 46, has long desired to become US president and launched his first – and failed – candidacy in 2020 against democrat Joe Biden and republican Donald Trump.

While on the campaign trail, the All Of The Lights musician frequently stirred up controversy and sparked concern for his welfare, after making claims including that he and his then-wife Kim Kardashian had considered aborting their first child, North.

But undeterred by the backlash, and the fact failed to secure enough votes to go up against the main parties, Ye announced he would be running again for president in 2024 back in November.

And it has been claimed in an upcoming BBC documentary, The Trouble with KanYe, the Yeezy founder approached a homeless man he barely knew, Mark, for a key role in his inner circle.

In the hour-long feature, presenter Mobeen Azhar travels to Cornerstone Christian Church in California, where Kanye is known to visit, and bumps into Mark, who lives in a car in the car park.

Mark explains that he has been homeless for nine years ‘minus a year’ and currently lives in the church’s car park.

‘That must be quite tough?’ Mobeen comments.

‘No it’s not,’ he replies. ‘Tough is when you’re shopping cart homeless. When you have a car you feel safe.’

Mar also said that Kanye asked him for his ‘opinions on every topic that came up’ (Picture: BBC)

Mobeen proceeds to ask Mark about his relationship with Kanye and he explains the God’s Plan rapper along with white nationalist Nick Fuentes and other members of the presidential team were frequent visitors.

Mark continues: ‘They all said I was the most religiously erudite in the room and Kanye started looking to me for my opinion on every topic that came up.

‘He called me the following Monday, the Monday before Thanksgiving, and the first thing he said to me was: “I want you to be my Campaign Manager to run for President.”‘

Mobeen remarks he’s ‘fascinated’ Kanye chose Mark to be on his team, to which he replies: ‘God chose me. We’re all actors.’

Mark agrees with Mobeen that he ‘didn’t fit into the mould of a seasoned political campaigner,’ laughing while retorting: ‘No not at all.’

Kanye first announced right-wing media personality Milo Yiannopoulos as his campaign manager, until he was fired and later rehired as director of political operations.

There has been upheaval among his inner circle, with his treasurer Patrick Krason resigning in May amid accusations of potential ‘unlawful’ transactions.

Late last year, the Bound 2 rapper faced heavy criticism for his comments about Black Lives Matter and the Jewish community, with his social media accounts blocked and restricted due to anti-semitic comments.

After his comments, numerous companies cut ties with him, while his ex-wife Kim, 42, spoke out against hate speech.

Amid the outrage, in October 2022, Instagram confirmed to Metro.co.uk they had ‘deleted content from @kanyewest for violating our policies and placed a restriction on the account’.

Metro.co.uk has contacted reps for Kanye for comment.

The Trouble with KanYe airs on BBC Two on Wednesday June, 28 at 9pm and will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
