Jury Finishes 1st Day of Deliberations in Rittenhouse Murder Trial
VOA says The jury in the murder trial of Kyle Rittenhouse ended its first day of deliberations Tuesday in the midwestern U.S. city of Kenosha, Wisconsin.
The jurors, seven women and five men, asked for more copies of the judge’s instructions and worked for about eight hours before leaving for the day. They will return Wednesday morning to resume deliberations.
Rittenhouse is charged with the shooting deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber and wounding Gaige Grosskreutz during a chaotic night of protests in August 2020 against racial injustice in Kenosha.
The protests were sparked by the police shooting of Jacob Blake, a Black man who was left paralyzed from the waist down.
