Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) recently discovered that Joel Deering (Callum Lill) had been hiding her dad Ed Bailey’s (Trevor Michael Georges) gambling secret in Coronation Street.

Ed’s addiction left him in such a mess that he ended up pawning the family’s Christmas presents, but was soon caught out by CCTV in the shop.

This led to huge upset among the Baileys, and trouble for Dee-Dee when she learnt just how much boyfriend Joel knew about the situation.

However, fans are now concerned that there may be more secrets that Joel is keeping from Dee-Dee, which could potentially leave her in danger.

After watching recent scenes, fans took to Twitter/X to share their unease, pointing out that they thought Joel was acting shifty.

One user, Charlotte, made it clear that she didn’t trust him, while another user, Aidan, pointed out that the lawyer was ‘definitely dodgy’.

Does anyone else think Joel has an ulterior motive? I just don’t trust him. I feel like he’s with Dee Dee for some other reason, I feel like he’s got history with the Bailey family and a grudge but I don’t know what exactly #Corrie

Elsewhere, fans think they have rumbled Joel’s big secret, suggesting that he may be related to returning bad boy Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths).

With this whole Ed/Ronnie thing I reckon Joel (DeeDee’s fella) is gonna be related to Damon or even Geoff or someone and they get out of debt in a dodgy deal #Corrie

Twitter/X user Poppy explained one theory that suggested Dee-Dee and Joel would use his familial connections to ‘get out of debt in a dodgy deal’.

In upcoming scenes, Damon is set to offer gambling addict Ed work on a new renovation project, but could he have been persuaded to do so by Joel?

However, when Dee-Dee catches wind of Ed and Damon’s deal, she is less than impressed, and urges her dad to steer clear.

After Damon has handed Ed a wad of cash to buy supplies to pay for the bar renovation, Dee-Dee reveals that Ed is a gambling addict and warns Damon that any undue stress could send him back down a dark path.

Thinking of his money, Damon panics, but will Ed give into temptation?
