Joanna Lumley opened up about staying with King Charles and Queen Camilla – but her remarks have not gone down well with the internet.
The Absolutely Fabulous actress, 77, was among the starry guests at the King’s coronation at Westminster Abbey, where she was interviewed by Sky News presenter Kay Burley.
The Motherland star, who previously insisted she wasn’t ‘close friends’ with the royal couple, was grilled about her relationship with them.
When asked how well she knew King Charles and Queen Camilla, Joanna replied curtly: ‘Well enough to stay with them.’
This naturally piqued the interest of Kay who said she had ‘so many questions’ about the nature of her visits.
‘Well we’ve stayed with them in various places,’ Joanna explained. ‘And it’s so normal and so friendly but so unbelievably welcoming and generous. Utterly thrilling.
