Jason Sudeikis offers his support to Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka
Actor Jason Sudeikis has shown his support to the England players who were racially abused following the Euro 2020 final against Italy.
Sudeikis attended the LA premiere of his show Ted Lasso wearing a black jumper with the words “Jadon & Marcus & Bukayo”.
Sudeikis plays an American football coach with is brought over to England to train a struggling football team in the critically acclaimed show.
Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka were all targeted by racists after failing to score from the spot during England’s ill-fated penalty shootout against Italy in Sunday’s Euro 2020 final.
Sudeikis said he felt “horrible” about the abuse received by the three young players, adding that he “let the shirt speak for itself”.
His trainers had the word “equality” written on them.
The public, government figures, Prince William and Gareth Southgate have all widely condemned the abuse suffered by the players, who have released their own statements in the days since the final.
