Jamie Carragher was critical of Chelsea new boy Moises Caicedo following his ‘nightmare’ debut for the club.
The midfielder was named on the bench for the side’s trip to West Ham on Sunday afternoon.
But he entered proceedings with around 25 minutes plus injury time to play at the London Stadium, with his side trailing 2-1 and taking on the 10 men of West Ham.
Caicedo lost a number of early challenges and had Roberto Sanchez to thank for keeping out Pablo Fornals after the Ecuador midfielder gifted him possession close to Chelsea’s box.
But Caicedo only had himself to when he brought down former Chelsea full-back Emerson in the area in the 93rd minute.

Lucas Paqueta stepped forward to convert the spot kick, meaning Chelsea have just one point from their first two matches.
And Carragher says the incident summed up a ‘nightmare’ debut for Caicedo.
‘That man Caicedo has had a bit of a nightmare since he came on you have to say,’ Carragher said on Sky Sports.
‘It’s a poor, lazy challenge. Emerson always knows he’ll get there before him. We all did watching it!
‘He hasn’t started great since coming on.’
