Israel says 100 Hezbollah rocket launchers hit in Lebanon

Israel has launched a series of intense air strikes on southern Lebanon, targeting over 100 Hezbollah rocket launchers and what it described as “terrorist sites,” including a weapons storage facility, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The IDF stated that the rocket launchers were poised to strike Israel, although there were no immediate reports of casualties.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency reported that Israel conducted at least 52 air strikes in southern Lebanon on Thursday evening, while Lebanese forces retaliated with strikes on military positions in northern Israel.

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah condemned the deadly device explosions that occurred earlier in the week, claiming they had “crossed all red lines” and accusing Israel of an act of war. The explosions, which Lebanese authorities say killed 37 and injured 3,000 people, saw pagers and walkie-talkies explode across Lebanon on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Although Israel has not claimed responsibility for the explosions, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced a shift in strategy, focusing more military efforts on Lebanon’s northern front as part of a “new phase of the war.”
