After taking on a legion of evil in The Last of Us and soaring across the stars in The Mandalorian, Pedro Pascal’s latest bloodthirsty project has now reportedly been revealed.

The Game of Thrones star, recently dubbed ‘Internet daddy’ by his global fanbase, is said to be on his way to joining the cast of the Gladiator sequel.

According to a new report, the 48-year-old is in final negotiations to join the untitled movie for Paramount, following on from the 2000 movie starring Russell Crowe.

Normal People star Paul Mescal is said to have been cast in the film as the grown-up version of Lucius, the son of Lucilla (Connie Neilsen) and the nephew of the conniving Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix).

Other members of the cast include Stranger Things breakout star Joseph Quinn, The Batman’s Riddler Barry Keoghan, Connie reprising her role as Lucilla and Hollywood icon Denzel Washington, with Ridley Scott returning to direct.

Sources informed Deadline that Pedro is in final talks to secure his role… so our fingers are crossed as tightly as possible!

Pedro has certainly proven time and time again that he has the skills to take on high-octane fighting sequences, which there are sure to be plenty of in the Gladiator sequel.

In Game of Thrones, his character Prince Oberyn Martell suffered a horrifying fate in one of the most memorable deaths of the entire fantasy series when he embarked on a duel with his nemesis.

More recently, Pedro’s been seen battling hordes of infected in The Last of Us, a show that depicts a dystopian world where many human beings have revealed their true, malicious nature in the universal struggle to survive.

The season three finale of The Mandalorian aired on Disney Plus last month, in which Pedro plays a helmet-wearing bounty hunter who’s sworn to protect his adopted son, Grogu.

Just a few days ago, a trailer was released for an upcoming project he’s starring in with Ethan Hawke, which left fans losing their minds with excitement.

The Pedro Almodóvar film, titled Strange Way of Life, stars Pedro as Silva, a cowboy who travels on horseback across the desert to meet Sheriff Jake (Ethan), an old friend who he hasn’t seen in 25 years.

In one tense scene, Silva says to Jake: ‘Years ago, you asked me what two men could do living together on a ranch. I’ll answer you now.’

One enthusiastic fan reacted to the trailer by writing: ‘This is pretty much straight out of a fan fiction I could have potentially written or at least wanted to write. It looks super weird, gay and has two actors I love in it. I’m already obsessed.’

‘Fanfics of these too are guna rise,’ someone else remarked.
